The Marple Band

Founded in 1900, The Marple Band is a ‘traditional’ brass band based in Marple, Stockport. They rely solely on contributions from supporters, findraising events, and public performances for their funding.

A member of The Marple Band placed a “please help” post on Facebook, asking if anyone could spare some time to update their website as the current volunteer could no longer do it. Having heard the band play at many events within Marple, I decided to put my name forward, as a way of giving something back. After an initial meeting with some of the band members, it was proposed that the best way to move forward was to revamp the website, creating a new and improved website that is easier to maintain and navigate.

This project was mainly conducted (no pun intended) via email and phone conversations. It was a real pleasure learning about the bands heritage, and meeting the other band members. So much so, that IH Media decided to not only provided the new website for free, but to host, maintain, and update the content gratuitously.
